Présentation

The European Sports Studies project :

The Firfol Académie d’Enseignement Comportemental offers an educational programme for resident school children according to the Sport-Études – Sports Studies – curriculum. At Firfol! they will experience a nourishing learning environment amongst the horses.

The Sports programme: gymnastics, trampoline, fitness, running etc... Learning how physical effort helps to build balance.

In contact with the horses and by using the natural horsemanship approach, the children learn the step-by-step progression of training young horses: they are actively engaged in education, which ultimately teaches them to build themselves.

In partnership with the CNED (Centre National d’Enseignement à Distance: accredited correspondence courses) we would like to offer a curriculum where the horse stands as a medium of motivation. Motivation for the children to take on responsibility for their learning, to make the school programme their own in the collège as well as in the lycée.

During their stay the children will take part in the various shows and performances happening at Firfol!. There is no pushing for any eventing, but instead the wish to create unforgettable teenage memories through artistic creation and travel, and through the sharing of emotions that a fulfilled horse-human relationship can bring.

We take on pupils from class 4ème (13 years old) to class Terminale (18 years old).

School program

School programme :

Class time takes place in the morning in the study room, where the children work on the CNED programme that they have signed up for. Tutors are present during that time and help the children with their lessons and their written assignments should they need it. More information on the CNED’s  State approved correspondence courses is available on their website.

Pupils must have their own laptop with access to Internet and headphones.

Children work through their lessons at their own rhythm and receive one to one tutoring.

The process of correspondence schooling enables the children to develop autonomy and take on responsibility for their learning.

In order to benefit from certified school enrolment (validation of moving up to the next grade is given by the CNED at the end of the year), you will need to contact the Inspection Académique (Regional Education Authority) and obtain authorisation from the Inspecteur to enrol your child on alternative education for “sports studies”.

An average mark of 13 out of 20 and positive teacher’s assessments are necessary in order to obtain an agreement.

See www.cned.fr and the Application Request form to be downloaded (of which page 2 is to be completed by your Inspecteur d’Académie).
