The course leads to the following qualification (dependent on success at examination):
For horse professionals, whether French or foreign, whose professional activity is set in France (BPJEPS or BEES 1-2 qualified): you will receive the BFEE 1 to 2 certificates.
For horse enthusiasts whose aim is to progress in horsemanship rather than teach it professionally, the AEC provides its own Certificats de Compétence Équestre 1 & 2.
Horse professionals teaching abroad will receive of the Certificats de Compétence Équestre 1 & 2.
Brevet Fédéral vs Certificat:
Both certificates acknowledge the competence to practice and teach the Savoirs Éthologiques 1 to 5. The programme and exam are identical (same jury), but only BEES or BPJEPS qualified professionals are legally entitled to be BFEE qualified. Everybody else is given the Certificat de Compétence as recognition of their training.
Insurance:
The Licence FFE is required in order to get the Savoirs Éthologiques 1 to 5.
Tack needed:
A saddle, a natural head collar and rope,
A laptop (recommended for notes).
Your horses:
You will be given several horses to work with as you progress on the course. Should you wish to learn the techniques of Natural colt starting, colt handling or the training of show horses, you will have the possibility to do so. Although the majority of our horses are Irish Cobs, there are also various other breeds represented on the ranch.
You may also attend the course with your own horse, and train him to the practice of the Savoirs Éthologiques 3 to 5. He must be at least 4 years old, gelding or mare (not in foal). The additional livery fee is €280 per month.
